TV/Film Auditioning Weekend Workshop
Taught by Lori S. Wyman, C.S.A. Emmy Nominee
With a degree in Speech and Communications and a minor in Education, Lori Wyman was asked repeatedly to teach local actors the ins and outs of auditioning for film and television while she was casting the television series “Miami Vice”. This 2 day on-camera weekend workshop has evolved since first beginning in 1988 into a very popular class being taught all over the country. The classes are kept small to ensure lots of camera time per person. The students receive individual critiques as well as being able to watch what their fellow classmates do in order to be able to learn what works and what doesn’t for an audition. Students are given sides to take home and work on as well as several cold readings during actual class time. Time and time again, students call after taking this class to tell us that they have used the techniques taught in the class to book those roles that previously were elusive. Lori also sprinkles in lots of motivational anecdotes and stories to keep the actors in a positive frame of mind. This helps when they go out into the auditioning arena because they have only positive thoughts of being able to conquer the world. If you want to feel this same way about your auditions, this is the course for you. This class has also been proven very beneficial to stage actors who want to learn the nuances that will help them cross over into film and television as well as actors who have been working for years and need that extra spark that has a tendency to dwindle in time. This class is held at our studio in North Miami Beach, Florida.
