Scripture: Exodus 2:1-10, The Birth of Moses
Could anyone escape the evil Pharaoh's order that all baby boys born to Israelite women must die? God provided one mother with a plan that would save her son, Moses, and help him escape to a better life.
Objective: Kids will say “God has a plan for your life.”
Nowhere to Run
Scripture: Exodus 2:11-25, Moses Flees
In anger, Moses killed an Egyptian man, and was forced to flee from everything he knew. If we don't learn to escape from our anger, it can cause all kinds of trouble.
Objective: Kids will say “God helps me control my anger.”
Signs Ahead
Scripture: Exodus 3:1-12, The Burning Bush
God appeared to Moses in a burning bush and told him that God was sending Moses to free the Israelites from slavery. God revealed himself in signs and wonders to show that He had the power to use Moses for this great purpose.
Objective: Kids will say “I will say 'yes' to God's purpose for me.”
Obstacle Course
Scripture: Exodus 5:1-9 & Exodus 7:8-13, Moses and Aaron Before Pharaoh
In there quest to help the Israelites escape from Egypt, Moses and Aaron faced one giant obstacle: Pharaoh. We face many obstacles in our lives, but we can trust that God is with us through it all.
Objective: Kids will say “God is with me, no matter what obstacle I face.”
“So the Lord used his mighty hand and powerful arm to bring us out of Egypt. He did great and terrifying things. He did signs and amazing things.” Deuteronomy 26:8 (NIRV)
Awesome Power
Scripture: Exodus 7:14-21, The Plague of Blood
Pharaoh would not let the Israelites leave Egypt, even to go out into the desert to worship God. God sent the first five plagues – blood, frogs, gnats, flies and livestock – to show Pharaoh, the Egyptians, and God's people His awesome power.
Objective: Kids will say “God shows us His awesome power.”
Believe the Unbelievable
Scripture: Exodus 9:22-35, The Plague of Boils
Pharaoh's heart was harder than ever, so God sent more plagues – boils, hail, locusts, and darkness – to show his power, and try to convince Pharaoh that God is to be believed and obeyed.
Objective: Kids will say “I choose to believe and obey God.”
Power to Spare
Scripture: Exodus 11:1-10, The Plague of the Firstborn
There was one more plague in store for the land of Egypt: the death of every firstborn male, human and animal. Those angel of death passed over the house of those who obeyed God, and were spared from the terrible plague of death.
Objective: Kids will say “God has the power to save us.”
Water Rescue, Part II
Scripture: Exodus 14:10-29, Crossing the Red Sea
The Israelites had escaped Egypt, but now faced a new obstacle: the raging sea on one side and an army on the other, ready to take them back to slavery. Only God could provide an unbelievable water rescue that would guarantee their escape from Egypt.
Objective: Kids will say “God's love and power are unstoppable.”
