Original vintage 1950s rose printed tulle ballgown dress in orange autumn tones.

This is a spectacular dress in the most beautiful shades of rust and burnt orange with a deep green and peach tulle. A fairytale gown designed with a gathered strapless bodice, ruched satin waistband and a very full five layer ballgown skirt complete with hoops for structure. 

Inside you can see all the workings of the dress, I am not sure if there would have been an original lining which has now been removed or a separate under dress as is sometimes the case with couture dresses. It is beautifully made. 

Style with the simplest of sandals and matching drop earrings, less is definitely more with this gown which will do all the talking. 

Fastening: metal zip back

Fabric: silk tulle floral print with silk duchess satin waistband. Lined with nylon tulle underskirts, rayon and cotton.

Label: unsigned, label removed

Age: 1950s 

Colour: Burnt orange, rust, dark green and pale peach

Condition: in good wearable condition, two bonded repairs to tears in the skirt, one at the front and the other to the left side. Hidden in folds.
Wear marks to underskirt outer lining. Dry cleaned and ready to wear.

As with most vintage items, this dress has been previously worn and is over 50 years old.
