Well - I can normally find at least a little information about the history of a brand, however, all I seem to be able to find out about Sorna is that they produced a handful of watches in the 1970s and disappeared into obscurity in the 1990s after the quartz crisis hit it badly.
What's on Offer
This meaty Sorna Chronograph is a rare find and actually rather flipping stylish! The dial is interesting, to say the least. Primarily black, it boasts flashes of colour on the auxiliary seconds and 15-minute register dials. There are chunky steel hands with luminous inserts and a central red needle hand for the stopwatch - the pushers and crown are unusually placed at 12 o'clock offering a unique design detail. The dial also features a tachymeter function (measuring approximate speed over a known distance) and is completed by a subtle date wheel - also at 12 o'clock. The substantial bullhead/TV-style case is crafted from brushed steel and although it is robust in size, it is remarkably comfortable on the wrist.
This watch has a real retro feel and offers a super cool aesthetic on the wrist, it is certainly not a wallflower!
We love this watch, and there are very few for sale from this slightly enigmatic brand and the nostalgia is real - a great buy and superb addition to any collection.
