About CTEK

The CTEK story starts over 30 years ago in Vikmanshyttan, a small village in Dalarna in Sweden. This is where our founder – Swedish inventor Bengt Wahlqvist – created the first ever battery charger to use electronic pulse technology. And, thanks to Bengt’s technical expertise and perseverance, the world’s first ‘smart’ battery charger was born.

Since 1997 our product range has grown significantly to meet the demands of vehicle owners, professional workshops and applications in many other industries. We’re proud to say that our products get expert rave reviews all over the world and regularly beat the competition by being crowned ‘best in test’. We now sell over one million battery chargers in 70 countries, all over the world, every year.

In May 2018, CTEK acquired Chargestorm, Scandinavia's largest producer and developer of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions; a reflection of our strong commitment to entering this fast-growing sector. With Chargestorm’s strong product base, cutting edge technology and expertise in EV and CTEK’s global presence and reputation for quality and innovation within battery management, we are already taking the global EV market by storm.
