Mary Quant's Ginger Group line, created in 1963, was born out of her desire to make her clothing accessible to a wider audience at a lower price range. In her boutique Bazaar she was known for pulling influence from London's youth culture, creating out of the box pieces inspired by mods, beatniks, and dancers. The designs at her boutique were almost all sewn by Mary herself, and thus came with a higher price tag. Her first collection with Ginger Group featured a "ginger" palette of red and orange. This swearer has a whimsical, yet easy to wear design - a simple cardigan base with space age style cap sleeves in a stand out knit pattern!
