Incredible oversized YSL evening coat from 1985. This black coat has a velvet yoke, collar and cuffs while the main fabric is taffeta with a very subtle feather-like pattern throughout. It fastens up the centre front with large, round, flat plastic buttons. It is heavily gathered from the yoke, so is very roomy like a tent coat. The shoulders are structured with gathering again at the shoulders and cuffs. There are side slits and it is fully lined.
This is a very striking and sophisticated piece. We're getting Femme Fatale vibes!

FABRIC: Label has been cut off. Soft velvet and likely a synthetic taffeta. 

LABEL: Yves Saint Laurent Variation (a RTW diffusion line of YSL from the 80s)
