Product Description: This is a strand of Chevron Beads.
Please note that due to the antique nature of this item, it may have scratches, cracks, or chips.
The Chevron bead technique was invented by Maria Valovale in the late 1400s on the island of Murano, Italy. While Venetian bead-making techniques have roots in ancient methods, the Chevron technique is uniquely Venetian. Chevron beads with up to 10 layers have been discovered, with blue being the most common color. Red, green, and black Chevrons are rarer. This technique later spread to the Netherlands. The name "Chevron" refers to a zigzag pattern, and these beads are also known as star beads or rosettas.
