Vega Jkt in black hybrid horse from Rick Owens.

This vega leather jacket is waist length and has long sleeves. It has a classic collar, shoulder epaulettes, a plaquette with snaps concealing a front zipper, horizontal right chest and lower side diagonal zippered pockets. It features snap cuffs and zippers that reveal the forearms, a two-way zipper on the left body that reveals the left side and a vega ZIP on the right side body and 4 snap loops around the hem.

This heavyweight horse leather is tanned in Japan. The tanning and dying method of this leather will reveal the brown coloured underlayer of the hide as the darker outer layer fades with wear and abrasion. The hides have been specifically chosen for the natural scarring and markings of the animal.

This item is part of the Rick Owens collaboration with New York punk duo suicidebandofficial and features a signature label on the interior.

The band pioneered the use of minimalist electronic instrumentation during the 1970s. The RAW, disturbing sound and threatening, chaotic live shows of vocalist Alan Vega and musician Martin Rev were met with hostility early on — they were considered outsiders among their contemporaries and largely vilified, but their influence has been significant in the decades since. I used their song cheree for ONE of my first runway shows and now I have developed a capsule collection with the support of the band, referencing their destroyed, deconstructed leathers, tailored jkts, and athletic track tops.
