The origins of the Seamaster trace back to a pivotal moment in horological history. Launched by Omega in 1948, the Seamaster was inspired by the waterproof watches designed for the British military during World War II. These timepieces, crafted for durability and resistance under rigorous conditions, laid the groundwork for what would become a cornerstone in luxury watchmaking. The Seamaster's early beginnings were marked by innovation and an ambition to combine robust functionality with elegance.
What's on Offer
This is a nice example of the Seamaster 165.002 reference with a slivered dial and stylish steel dial furniture. The crosshair detail adds symmetry and the slim pencil hands have subtle luminous inserts for visibility in low light - there are also luminous pips on the hour plots. An applied Omega emblem and Seamaster signature complete the dial which is understated yet stylish. The dial has a light spattering of patina which is quite even and a natural occurrence on vintage watches. The watch is paired with a nice steel beads-of-rice bracelet but could be changed up with a beautiful leather strap - sometimes this brings out the colour of the dial more effectively. The watch is running well and keeping good time - you simply cannot go wrong with vintage Omega and this is a beautiful example.
