Vintage 40s black rayon crepe day dress.

Light to medium weight smooth rayon crepe fit and flare day dress.

I have lightened a few photos to show details. The color is a rich deep black.

Winged collar and deep vee neckline with an attached self fabric modesty panel as shown.

Defined waist seam and three quarter length sleeves.

Shoulder pads that can be easily removed with a few snips of the scissors if you prefer a natural shoulder line.

The bodice features panels of decorative smocking at the front of the shoulders and just above the waist. The bodice front is lightly gathered where it is sewn to the shoulder and waist smocked panels.

The skirt features three back panels and eight front panels with an inverted center front pleat.

Does up the left side seam with a 7" metal zipper. Unlined.

Comes with it's original self-fabric covered slide through buckle belt.

DESIGNER LABEL: No labels. This may have been handmade by a skilled seamstress.

CONDITION: Excellent with no odors, discoloration, stains, fading, snags, pulls, holes, or runs.

Gently worn and very well cared for. Freshly cleaned and ready to wear.

SIZING: There are no size tags. Based on the measurements below, this dress will best fit a modern size XXL (extra extra large).

Please note that this is shown clipped to fit my size Medium mannequin and will fall better on the proper sized body.
