A Rare and Charming Rolex Perpetual Date with an Explorer Style Dial, Model ref: 1500/553058 in Stunning Vintage Condition, Sold with Box and Papers and Rolex Oyster Bracelet, c.1961

First appearing during the 1950s, the Rolex Date offers much of the same design and functionality as the classic 36mm Datejust, but with a smaller 34mm case diameter. The reference 1500 is the quintessential example of Rolex’s smaller date-displaying wristwatch.

This is an absolutely charming example of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date in beautiful vintage condition. The dial has been wonderfully preserved and for those of us that love that natural ageing process of watches, it displays the beautiful beginnings of a tropical hue. Furnished with attractive gold furniture, the dial boasts baton hour markers along with Arabic numerals at 6 and 9 - this makes it a rather rare piece given most just have batons - an Explorer style dial. The date aperture sits perfectly underneath a magnifying cyclops giving improved legibility and stylish Dauphine hands complete the dial. The smooth bezel and stainless steel case are in excellent pre-owned condition and the watch is paired with an attractive tan leather strap, however, the Rolex Oyster Steel bracelet is sold wth the watch along with its original box and papers - what a beautiful package! This is a super stylish vintage watch with lashings of charisma, suitable for any occasion!
