Purple Sunrise and Stars Batik Patchwork Dress

Dyed in layered purples with soft variation throughout, it features a coordinated peekaboo radiant sunrise along the hemline on both the front and back, along with stars and a swirling galaxy panel through the body.  It’s a piece that feels alive with color and movement.

The patchwork is made from individually dyed panels.  I did this in a cohesive theme of color and design, mixed, started and stopped  in various stages of its own batik process,  then sewn together to create natural shifts in tone and texture across the dress. Some areas are quieter, while others carry more detail, so your eye moves through it over time.

Easy to wear with a relaxed fit, gathered skirt, and side pockets.

This fabric is a very 100% soft cotton with a medium weight fleece interior.  It's a substantial weight fabric- not really a lightweight dress, yet it's very airy.  Perfect for the cool coastal temps and wind factor.  I used a denim 110/18 size needle and zigzag stitch to assemble the entire dress.  The raw hemline is intentionally, yet subtly imperfect.  

Size Medium.  It's comfortable on my size 6-8 frame.  For reference, I am 5'4", 150 lbs, 34C bust.
