Antique 1910s 20s Edwardian Art Deco Black Textured Silk Velvet Opera Coat Frock Jacket with Silk Chord Knot Closure

Features a rich, heavy black silk velvet with a deep embossed floral brocade-like texture. The silhouette is a classic 1910s-1920s transition style, featuring a wide-notched shawl lapel and an asymmetrical front wrap. The most prominent detail is a large, ornate knotted cord "frog" fastener at the hip, adding a strong decorative element with two large buttons. The coat has slightly puffed shoulders over long sleeves with deep, turned-back cuffs and a mid-thigh to knee-length hem. Interior lined in cream silk brocade and has a hidden slit pocket at left side. No labels or tags.

Condition: amazingly VERY GOOD. The velvet exterior has no stains or tears, or even signs of wear, including the entire hemline. The black silk embroidered cording shows one tear (as pictured). The interior silk liner is starting to tear in one small section at the rear (see pic), and there are two dot sized stains on the interior that are a light brown. No other issues with liner. Breathtaking over all. The pictures can't do it justice.
