Eventuri has spent much time in ensuring our carbon airbox was produced by only the best motorsport development companies who are also responsible for producing F1 body panels. The aim was to produce the best aftermarket CSL style airbox ever released using up to date cutting edge manufacturing processes. Part of what makes the E46 M3 CSL special is the carbon airbox and its ability to produce what is probably one of the best noises of any sports car. An E46 M3 with a CSL airbox is probably the most ideal all-round sports car for most enthusiasts giving far more power, throttle response and that fantastic induction roar.

The main airbox houses six trumpets and the breather connectors. It is manufactured from prepreg carbon fiber and is designed to resonate under load to produce the desired CSL sound. Long term reliability at the trumpet interface is ensured by mechanical fasteners and gaskets that maintain an airtight seal through heat cycles and vibration. The same method secures the breather adapters.
The trumpets are injection molded from glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic to achieve precise geometry and smooth internal surfaces. CNC stainless rings prevent deformation when silicone couplers are tightened.
The snorkel channels airflow from the intake into the trumpet area. It incorporates the MAF tube where the OEM sensor mounts to a CNC machined boss. Custom screws engage plastic clips so the snorkel remains secure under vibration.
The airbox shape was refined through iterative CFD simulations to ensure each trumpet receives adequate flow without starvation from geometry limits or turbulence.
The carbon pod shrouds a reverse mounted bespoke dry filter and reduces cross section smoothly toward the plenum. This invokes the Venturi effect, accelerating airflow while maintaining laminar conditions and reducing pressure loss through the system. The smoother flow into the MAF section allows the sensor to operate without errors.
The 100 percent prepreg carbon scoop with CNC machined collar locates in the front left brake duct. It saturates the intake mouth with ambient air while leaving half the duct height open for brake cooling. After a hard drive the aluminum cowl at the intake mouth will still feel cold to the touch.
