We are delighted to present this vintage IWC Ref. 1871 from around 1970, powered by the highly regarded calibre 8541 automatic movement. This 25-jewel movement features IWC’s famous Pellaton winding system, an ingenious mechanism that winds the mainspring in both directions of the rotor’s motion for efficiency and durability — a hallmark of IWC’s technical excellence.

The square brushed stainless steel case remains in good condition with only sympathetic signs of wear appropriate to its age.

The dial is a particular treat, with a sunburst silver inner square and an elegant sunburst-style outer minute track that adds depth and texture to the design - there is also a framed date aperture at 3 o'clock - a nice functional detail. Slim applied hour markers and pencil hands complete the refined layout, protected by a domed Plexiglass crystal.

The watch is paired with its original stainless steel bracelet which sits comfortably on the wrist and enhances the bold 1970s aesthetic. With its elegant proportions and authentic period styling, this IWC is a fine example of the brand’s craftsmanship and design from the era.
