DETAILS: A real statement coat, dating to the 1980s, with lots of interesting seaming details, it strikes me as inspired both by Michael Jackson's Thriller and puffy jackets. The silhouette is more than a jacket, but not a full length coat - I've seen these described as "slouch jackets". The dropped shoulders are lightly padded. Quite a few of the seams are flat fell, looking similar to the double rows of stitching you see on jeans - there are also some areas of cording to bump up the subtle visual detailing, like around the large spread collar. I particularly like the padded rolled top of the handwarmer pockets. The zip-out lining means the coat should be able to carry you deeper into winter than most leather. There is no vent in back, also helpful in windy weather.

CONDITION: I didn't notice this the first 2 or 3 times I inspected it, but the coat must have had a self-belt at one time - there is needle-hole evidence of three belt loops that a previous owner removed - see closeup. Minor scuffs along seam edges in a few spots, easily polished and buffed away if you prefer no patina. No holes, rips, stains, or other issues noted.
