The Omega 121.001 was introduced in the early 1960s as part of Omega’s International Collection. Designed for understated sophistication, it featured a gold-plated or stainless steel case, minimalist dials, and manual-wind movements from Omega’s renowned 30mm caliber series.

The Caliber 269, a 17-jewel movement, powered many of these models, offering precision and reliability. This movement originated from the famous Caliber 30T2, known for being robust and durable and used in both military and civilian watches. 

Although overshadowed by Omega’s sports models like the Speedmaster, the 121.001 remains a classic representation of Omega’s mid-century dress watches. Today, it is valued by collectors for its elegant design, quality craftsmanship, and historical significance in Omega’s dress watch lineup.

The jewel in the crown of this timepiece is undoubtedly its silver ribbon dial, a finish that is relatively rare but very much sought-after among collectors.There is a spattering of patina which is fairly even across the dial - a joy to those who appreciate the very unique ageing process of vintage watches. 

The dial is furnished with minimalist gilt baton hour markers with subtle onyx inserts and corresponding  hands, exuding understated sophistication. A cross-hair sub-seconds dial at the 6 o’clock position enhances the symmetry of the dial. 

Inside, the watch is powered by Omega’s Caliber 269, a 17-jewel movement known for its precision and reliability. Paired with a black leather strap, this is the epitome of the classic Omega dress watch! 

This watch is offered for sale as seen, as the watches service history is unknown and we are selling it on behalf of a watch collector's family who have asked us to help sell an entire collection. As there are quite a few watches to dispose of, the clients do not wish to spend unnecessary money on servicing each watch before its sold so we have priced the watches to reflect it being sold un-serviced and without a warranty but it can be arranged with our watchmaker at an additional cost if you wish.
