Girard-Perregaux, a distinguished name in horology, traces its roots back to 1791, when Jean-François Bautte crafted his first timepieces in Geneva, earning acclaim for their intricate details and innovative designs. In 1852, the firm was solidified with the merger of Bautte’s workshop and Constant Girard's company, forming Girard-Perregaux. Renowned for their commitment to precision, the brand gained prominence with their Tourbillon with Three Gold Bridges, awarded at the 1889 Paris Exposition.
This model remains an emblem of technical prowess and aesthetic elegance. Through the 20th century, Girard-Perregaux continued to innovate, notably pioneering the quartz wristwatch in the 1970s, heralding a new era in timekeeping. Despite the quartz revolution, the brand maintained its dedication to mechanical watches. Today, Girard-Perregaux is celebrated for its blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern innovation, embodying a rich legacy that continues to thrive in the luxury watch industry.
