Story

Andrew Carnegie came to America as a child from Scotland. He worked his way up literally from the bottom of the factory floor to become the king of American steel. His name is today linked with the innumerable charities and foundations he established with his fortune. Our Carnegie shirt is a member of a series of shirts inspired by the magnates of the industrial and progressive eras. Though sometimes controversial, these people have come to symbolize the eminence and responsibility that talent and diligent work can deliver. The Carnegie is the shirt for the man who had to work his way to the top. It has a deep blue stripe and is cut from 100% 2-ply 120s Egyptian cotton. It also features our signature cutaway collar.

Fabric

Egyptian cotton is a particular variety that is grown in only a few other places. It is renowned as some of the best in the world. It has an extra long staple, which means it has longer fibers, resulting in a silkier, more durable fabric.Poplin, sometimes called broadcloth, is a plain weave which means the threads alternately cross over and then under each other. This results in a very smooth and durable fabric that has an almost silky hand feel, particularly with higher thread counts. Also, poplins look very crisp when ironed.
