Rainbow Mini is a fun and flexible sweatshirt pattern for children where creativity knows no bounds. With a total of 70 versions (50 with pockets, 20 without), it's designed to let little ones play in comfort and style.
Choose from two lengths – classic or above the knee – and three pocket styles: kangaroo, welt, or in-seam. The design can be made with or without a zip and features a variety of neckline options including a classic hood, overlapping hood, neckband, or ribbed collar. Finish it off with ribbing for a snug fit, or skip it for a more relaxed look.
Important to Know: I AM Patterns are designed to be traced off. The different pieces overlap with each other so you will need to trace the pattern on paper. This means that you will be able to make multiple sizes of the garment and adjust the pattern as you trace it if necessary. For this you could use tracing paper, baking parchment, thin wrapping paper; or we can supply you with some spot and cross pattern paper.
Suggested Fabric:
Garment: jersey for sweatshirt, interlock knit, neoprene, French terry…
Ribbing: ribbing by the meter or the same fabric used for the garment (this pattern is not designed for using pre-cut ribbing bands). The ribbed collar can only be sewn in ribbing.

*For all classic versions, the measurements noted in imperial system are the exact conversions of the zip lengths the original pattern is drafted for (noted in centimeters below). You will have to round up this measurement and lengthen the front and back pieces by 1/4″ for sizes 3, 4, 6, 8 and 10 and by 3/8″ for sizes 12 and 14. To understand how to do this, refer to the instructions in step 2 (Preparing the pattern).
