Skye & Raasay from Applecross Ceramic Coaster

Painted by Scotland's award winning artist Cath Waters, this view of Skye and Raasay is from Sand Beach near Applecross in Wester Ross. These views across the Inner Sound to the Cuillin mountains of Skye and the flat topped Dun Cann of Raasay are spectacular. It’s easy to send hours sitting on the sand watching the light change until the sun disappears behind the hills. The ancient settlement of Applecross was accessible only by boat and the steep and winding Bealach Na Ba until the mid 1970s, when a coastal road was built.
