Citizen is a renowned Japanese watch brand with a rich history in the watchmaking industry. The precursor to Citizen, the Shokosha Watch Research Institute, was established in 1918 in Tokyo, Japan. The company changed its name to Citizen Watch Company in 1930. Citizen achieved a significant milestone by introducing the first water-resistant Japanese watch in 1959. This innovation demonstrated Citizen's commitment to advancing watch technology.

Citizen, along with other Japanese watchmakers, played a key role in the Quartz Revolution by introducing the Crystron Solar Cell, the world's first analogue quartz watch with a solar cell, in 1973. Citizen revolutionized the industry again with the introduction of Eco-Drive technology in 1976. Eco-Drive watches are powered by light, whether natural or artificial, eliminating the need for traditional batteries.

This is the Citizen Tsuyosa automatic released in 2023. The watch is in almost new condition with a box and papers.

It features a metallic yellow sunburst dial and white hour markers adding a nice pop of colour to this sleek sports watch.

The internal mechanics include the calibre 8210 automatic movement with a date complication. Also, a nice design ellement is the display caseback showing the movement. The quality of the watch is excellent and it is finished superbly.
