Montres Tudor SA, or simply Tudor, is a Swiss watchmaker based in Geneva, Switzerland. Registered in 1926 by Hans Wilsdorf, founder of Rolex, the brand remains a sister company to Rolex; the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation owns both companies. Tudor was initially known for watches produced for the military and professional divers. From the 1960s to 1980s, several navies issued Tudor Submariners to their divers, including the US Navy SEALs and the French Marine Nationale.
What's on Offer
The Tudor Submariner 76100 was only produced briefly during the 1980s. Whilst the Rolex Submariner was available in a no-date version, this was only available with the date aperture and features the distinctive lollypop hour hand as opposed to Mercedes's hand and the date wheel is brushed silver. (This hasn't photographed very well but is beautiful in reality).
The rich black dial boasts oversized indexes with tritium lume which has aged to a beautiful pale buttery colour. The bidirectional bezel is a service replacement and is in immaculate condition with no blemishes, in fact, the watch is in excellent overall condition with very few signs of wear. The case, crown and caseback are engraved with Rolex. This is a superb watch that benefits from the solid Rolex engineering we all love, it wears well on the wrist and looks the part. These references are very collectable as they becoming rather rare and as such are very much sought after.
This watch is supplied with its original box and anchor and its original swing ticket.
