This t-shirt design features Max Schreck as Count Orlok from FW Murnau's gothic horror masterpiece Nosferatu.
Directed by German expressionist film maker F. W Murnau and released in 1922, the film of Nosferatu is widely regarded as a classic of the Gothic-horror genre. The character of Nosferatu is so-named due to Murnau being unable to win the rights to make a film of Bram Stoker's novel 'Dracula'. To get around this snag, Murnau changed names and other details and thus the 'Dracula' character is replaced by 'Count Orlok' the vampire and referred to as Nosferatu (literally 'vampire'). The lead character was perfectly portrayed by the actor Max Schreck. The film is often cited as the prototypical vampire movie and has been hugely influential in the Gothic-horror genre.
The film was the only major production to come from Prana Films, which had been founded in 1921 by Enrico Dieckmann and Albin Grau.
