About the Equitana Very-Slightly-Dressage (VSD) Flap

The term VSD originates from Germany, meaning "multipurpose" and essentially describing a more versatile dressage saddle. The Very-Slightly-Dressage saddle is designed to sit somewhere between a Dressage saddle and a General Purpose (GP) saddle. They are designed predominantly for flat-work, hacking and dressage but are still forward-cut enough to do some work over low fences.

WOW's Pinnacle Dressage Saddle introduced the world to what WOW has termed the 'Fixed Movable-Block' Equitana flap; this means the angle and position front to back of the block can be adjusted quickly and easily to suit each individual rider’s preferences.

The Equitana VSD Flap is the next evolution of the Pinnacle, with slightly more forward cut and shorter flaps. The Equitana VSD Flap boasts full modularity and introduces versatility, allowing you to seamlessly transition from half-pass to cross-rails.

The Equitana is WOW's best-selling flap style, and it's easy to see why! The mono-flap design, and padded, Frenched-leather flaps constructed of fine Panel leather offers the squishy, sticky, luxe feel riders have come to expect from high-end saddles. The Equitana is a favorite of Richard Davison, Team Great Britain's Olympic Dressage Coach, who has been training and competing in International Dressage Competitions in this model for almost two decades.

The Equitana VSD Flap is available in two styles:

• Padded, Frenched-leather + High-Thigh Block (must be paired with a skirted seat)
  
• Padded, Frenched-leather + Low-Thigh Block

Under-Flap Knee Rolls - or UFKRs - are available with this flap, if wanted/needed.

Complete WOW Saddles

If having a fully-modular saddle is important to you and customizing it to your exact personal style and tastes is not important to you but you still want your saddle to be a little 'dressed up', the Signature Competitor line is a great mid-level range of WOW's modular saddles. The Standard Competitor line is one step down whilst still retaining full modularity, but the saddles feature a simpler design aesthetic than the Signatures. If customization is important to you, consider building your own custom WOW Saddle, or stepping back a few levels to WOW's DMK line, which allows limited customization options in exchange for not being fully modular.
