It is an extraordinary Georgian era, early 19th century hand painted miniature set into sterling silver surrounded by fabulous paste stones.

I'm not entirely certain what the miniature represents, but it was recently pointed out to me that it could be a Catholic interpretation of God with a red mantle and dove of the Holy Spirit.

In any case, I love the artwork and style. It is such a unique piece of jewelry and a conversation starter for sure. I have never seen anything quite like it!
