Rentrayage is excited to introduce this hand-loomed mohair and lambswool blanket from Mantas Ezcaray, a small family-owned company in Northernmost Spain where a textile tradition of highly sought after woolens dates back to the 1500’s.  When Cecilio Valgañón, originally a sheep farmer, put a loom in his barn in 1930, his reputation for making the finest blankets in the region quickly spread.  His family has been making blankets the same way (slow and meticulous) ever since. From non-toxic washing and dyeing to a painstakingly hand-crafted finished product, each piece bears the artisanal signature passed down from centuries of skilled carders, shearers, dyers, and weavers.
