No. This is a catback system—it bolts directly to your existing factory catalytic converter. The connection point is at the rear flange of the cat, so no cutting or modifications needed.

The burnt-tip finish is durable, but it can lighten slightly over time with heat cycling and exposure. A stainless steel polish will restore the appearance if needed, but it's not required for function.
