Amazing pair of pretty hard to find original dungarees / overalls c.1930, which I traded some of my own 20s bits for with the wonderful @goodlifevintage.. but I’m trying to streamline again!
A greeny blue in what feels like a slub cotton/linen fabric, centre back fastening with tonal blue deco buttons. Shoulder straps fasten with white linen buttons to match the piping to the patch pocket. Trousers are straight cut and wide.
The buttons are vintage replacements as the originals were broken (see photos) - I chose them to match the piping. I’ve since found a couple more like the originals, so will include!
Measures:
Bust n/a as open sided
Waist at smallest approx 32” laid flat - you should measure no bigger than 30” yourself I’d say
Hips 40”
Bib, measured centre front to waist is 9” high
Rise 14” from seam to crotch
inseam 23”
outerseam of leg 34”
shoudler to hem pentathlon is approx 50”, if that helps you gauge it!
Condition:
Clearly homesewn but very sturdy fabric, unfinished selvedges have loose threads and fairly basic internal construction but unseen when worn. Edges of buttonholes a bit worn but not seen when fastened.
There are some faint paler patches, possibly bleach. I think these are quite utility. Not particularly obvious but please see photos.
Very wearable, just cleaned.
