His later work Twitch of the Nerve of Death (1971) was hugely seminal.
He paved the way for a new generation of Italian directors, most notably Dario Argento, who both directed & wrote the music for his films. Memorable Argento classics include Deep Red (1975), Suspiria (1977) & Tenebrae (1982).
