This t-shirt was inspired by Salvador Dali and Luis Bunuel's surrealist movie, Un Chien Andalou. Translated as ‘An Andalusian Dog’, Un Chien Andalou is a silent, 16 minute- long surrealist film by the Spanish director Luis Bunuel & the surrealist-painter Salvador Dali. It was Bunuel’s first film & was released in 1929 with a limited showing at the Studio Des Ursulines in Paris. It did however achieve some popularity & ran for another eight months as a feature. The film has no plot in the conventional sense; its chronology is disjointed, jumping from introductory devices to flash-forward resolution-sequences with little change of on-screen characters or events. It thus relies on a kind of dream logic which creates a fluidic-narrative. This kind of sequencing may be described in terms of the then-popular Freudian free-associative cognition; the result is a montage of tenuously related scenes to be viewed from a subconscious, intuitive perspective as opposed to a logical approach.
