This is a lovely 1960s gown made of a beautiful jacquard fabric featuring tulips. It has a beautiful neckline edged with gathered black tulle. The bodice is flattering, with little cap sleeves and princess seams, with a nipped waist. The skirt is gathered and has two piped tiers, one at the hip and one near the hem. There is a hook at the top of the neck in back, followed by snaps to the waist and then closed with a black, metal Talon zipper. There is a canvas ribbed fabric at the waist for reinforcement. Unlined. Very well made. No flaws noted. Fabric is a synthetic - either acetate or rayon or a blend. No labels present. Was owned and worn by an expert seamstress who taught sewing and design. She likely made the dress.
