This is one of the most beautiful dresses from this era I have ever owned. It has actually been in my private collection for years. The print is beyond lovely, in shades of blues and greens with splashes of pink. The dress was cut on the bias, the bodice meets the skirt in large, swooping points allowing extra sweep and movement of the skirt. The bottom of the sleeves and at the base of the neckline is fine, hand smocking, the neck is accented with a braid of silk. There are tiny snaps down the side. For a dress this old it is in amazing condition. The silk is strong and bright, absolutely clean and free from any flaws.
