With a refreshing scent, Hinoki is naturally antibacterial and its resins make it resistant to mould and mildew making it ideal for use in wet or moist spaces. These low stools are traditionally used in Japanese baths (which commonly have a washing area separate from a tub) as a seat when washing before entering the tub.
