The swim trunks are produced in our unique AquaFlex ECO material consisting of 100% polyester, of which 55% is recycled from plastic bottles made from Repreve yarn and 45% PBT polyester.

This composition gives you several special advantages:

• 100% chlorine and UV resistant, so both fit and colours are maintained through +500 hours in the water
• UPF +50 UV protection
• A very high degree of breathability
• Equipped with 4-way elasticity in the fabric, giving you the necessary feeling of freedom in the swim trunks
• Oil and sunscreen resistant, as well as antibacterial, so you avoid a pair of heavy swim trunks smeared in various lotions, and which stay fresh over and over again
• Water-repellent and water-resistant, so that they do not absorb the water and thus do not become heavy to swim with, and you will instead experience that you glide more naturally through the water
• The fact that the swim trunks are actually made from recycled plastic bottles that have been collected from the world's oceans, is possible due to a demanding treatment that takes place after collection. This involves crushing the bottles into small flakes, going through adaptive heating and cooling, and ultimately turned into the strongest and most durable reusable sewing thread in the world. But despite this process being somewhat demanding, compared to a completely new fibre, far fewer emissions are emitted, less water is used, and only new crude oil is used along the way
• The elastic at the top edge and the sewing thread around the leg cut of the swim trunks are of great importance for their durability, as they often become loose and limp after a trip to chlorinated water. In Budgie Eco, the very chlorine-resistant Fratelli Leoni ® elastic has been chosen, which keeps its elasticity up to 3 times longer than normally used elastics for swimwear due to the special pre-treatment of the silicone. In addition to this, the sewing thread used in the swim trunks, Alterfil ® T, is particularly soft against the skin and gives a nice finish at the edge

The swim trunks are produced in Europe under the highest OEKO-TEX standard 100 certification, which guarantees products that have been tested against harmful chemical substances.
